In September, I went on a men’s retreat with my church. One man from our church asked if it was okay to covet someone else’s faith in God. He went on to say that he would like to understand how to start his relationship with God. This man shared his journey and how he came to Canyon Hills Friends Church.
I heard that God was directing him and leading him to the retreat. He shared his desire to start this relationship with Christ. In our group, many men shared how they came to Christ and what that means, like receiving God as Savior and Lord.
I asked him if he would like to make that decision with all the men today. To my delight, he said yes!
One of our pastors, Micah, asked if he would sit in the middle and allow everyone to lay hands on him to receive Christ. As the Apostle Paul says, “For by grace you have been saved through Faith. And this is not your doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9).
God did all the work; others planted the seeds and watered with God’s leading, but I thank God for using me to help this man verbalize his commitment to Christ.
Seeing him commit his life to Christ was beautiful and exciting. It was also amazing to see the men of our church stand up for Christ and recommit their lives to Christ.
